Scientific name: Cymbopogon Citratus (Common Name: Lemongrass)
Chinese name: 香茅
Character: Lemongrass is a perennial grass grown for its fragrant leaves and stalks which are used as a flavoring.
Edible Parts: Lemongrass’s fragrant leaves are commonly used in Southeast Asian cuisine, particularly for pork chop and roasted chicken. The dried leaves and stalks can also be brewed into a tea.
Other Use: Lemongrass has medical use and Beekeepers sometimes use lemon grass oil to attract bees.
